Transferring Emails – exporting the data file

Step 1: Open Microsoft Outlook .

Step 2: Select File then Options.

Step 3: Select Advanced from the list.

Step 4: Select Export under the export section.

Step 5: Select export to a file from the list then click next.

Step 6: Select Outlook Data File (.pst) then click next.

Step 7: Select the email folder that you want to extract data from, ensure that the include subfolders checkbox is ticked then click next.

Step 8: Choose the location to save the backup data file, ensure the first option is selected then click finish.

Step 9: You can add a password to the data file if you wish. For the purposes of this tutorial, I’m going to leave it blank.

Transferring Emails – importing the data file

Step 1: Open Microsoft Outlook.

Step 2: Click File then select Open.

Step 3: Select import.

Step 4: Ensure import from another program or file is selected then click next.

Step 5: Select Outlook Data File (.pst) then click next.

Step 6: Select the Outlook File that you backed up earlier and click do not import duplicates.

Step 7: Click next.

Step 8: Ensure that include subfolders is selected then click finish.
