Written Steps:
Step 1: Navigate to the network monitor icon in the taskbar at the bottom right of the screen and click it.
Step 2: Select “Open Network and Sharing Center.”
Step 3: Select “set up a new connection or network.”
Step 4: Select “Connect to a workplace” then click “Next.”
Step 5: Click “Use my Internet connection (VPN).”
Step 6: To find the Internet address you’ll need to open Command Prompt.
Step 7: Select start then type in “cmd” in the search bar. Alternatively the programs can be found under “All Programs” then “Accessories.”
Step 8: Type in “ping”, leave a space, type in the name of the server then hit the return key.
Step 9: Right click the text, select “Mark”, highlight the IP number then right click it.
Step 10: Return to the “Connect to a workplace” window and Paste this IP number into the field. The destination name can be anything you want. Then click “Next.”
Step 11: Type in the required details. Leave domain blank then click “Connect.”
Step 12: After it has finished connecting, close both windows.
Select the network monitor symbol in the taskbar at the bottom right to view the VPN connection you have just created.
Setting the network location
Step 1: select “open Network and Sharing Center.”
Step 2: Click “Public network” underneath the VPN name.
Step 3: Select the type of network that you want the VPN connection to be on then click “close.”
Deleting a VPN connection
Step 1: Click the network monitor icon in the taskbar at the bottom right, select the name then click disconnect.
Step 2: Click “Change adapter settings.”
Step 3: Right click the connection, select delete then click “yes.”
